Prayer Can Save Lives.

Prayer changes things, and prayer can save lives.

It was about six or so years ago, I was in my kitchen praying with worship music on, praying In Tongues and praying the words that came to my heart. Often when I would pray in my kitchen I would take communion.

One particular Sunday as I was doing so it came pressing on my heart to pray for the safety of my family, so I did. I prayed that prayer until I felt peace and took communion.

That week my family went through two tragedies, but the goodness of God saved them, and I will forever be thankful.

In Washington, my big sister was at home with her three kids, when the fuse box caught fire, with how serious it was the firemen said it could have quickly burnt down the house. But God! At the same time the fuse box caught fire, a water pipe burst putting out the fire. The firemen said that saved their lives! Unfortunately, the entire house was deemed unlivable because the smoke was so overwhelming and damaged the house. But they are alive still today! A sweet blessing that followed was my six or seven-year-old niece at the time who was taken to a donut shop the next day by her dad, and on the way she dreamed up a perfect unicorn donut. What a sweet blessing from God, that day they started selling donuts just as she had described! It was a rocky time that followed but the Red Cross organization was also there to help them in that time.

Within days, my mom and little sister in Texas were at home celebrating my baby brother’s birthday. He passed away from Leukemia as a toddler but they celebrate every year. As they were unwinding after dinner, my mom just sat down with her cake and remembered she had forgotten the milk. She got up to get the milk and from the kitchen, she heard gunshots go through her apartment. There was a drive-by shooting related to drug dealer neighbors. The bullets shot through the wall, straight through the couch where my mom’s head was just moments before. We thank God that my mom and sister are alive and well today. And praise God she moved into a better neighborhood sometime after.

Some may say these are lucky coincidences, but these are miracles and moments from God. I do believe the prayers I prayed days before and declaring the blood of Jesus over my family helped save their lives.

Has there ever been a time in your life when you knew the power of prayer saved your life or the life of a loved one?
